I'm not making excuses cause its obvious they helped him somewhat but it is a hitters ball park down there. Regardless, yes I do think he should go to the HoF.he also averaged 52 homers during his steroid years, 11 more homeruns per year is a rediculous increase when you are already hitting 40+
It's been banned since 93. It wasn't tested until recently, and the players union (the same union that allegedly tipped him off when he was going to get tested when testing started) fought tooth and nail against testing. It wasnt against the rules of major league baseball to use performance enhancing drugs when he tested positive. Though morally and legally he broke the law, he was within the rules of the game so therefore any record attained should remain valid.
I think it's incredibly unfair that the other 103 players get to remain anonymous.
His carreer is no more tarnished than any other player in the game.
The simple truth is steroid use in major league sports in wide spead and has been for quite some time. Performance is the biggest determining factor in a pro ball players worth, and it only makes sence that performance enhancing drugs will be used to increase strength and speed and cut down on recovery time. All very valuable attributes if your making a living as an athlete.
Anyone with half of a brain can make a realization of this, and the media needs to create a frenzy and keep things interesting.
OP none of this is news, do yourself a favor and excercise some independent thought and step away from the herd that is being lead to slaughter. Steroids exist in pro, semi pro, college, and even high school sports.
It was illegal in baseball and society in 2001, it was banned in baseball in either 91 or 93 can't remember. It's a double standard. All of it. Bonds broke the record in 2001 which still falls under that steroids not being illegal period. Yet he is on trial for being questioned more than others and trying to preserve his place in baseball history.
But it's still a double standard. A-Rod was doing pretty much the same thing but with much less attention. Up until now, he was never in question. It was illegal in baseball and society in 2001, it was banned in baseball in either 91 or 93 can't remember.
I think it was 1991 (I had a copy of the memo at one time for a report I did), and it clearly spelled out steroids. Remember the late 80's was when the federal government started to take a strong stand against steroids. But it's still a double standard. A-Rod was doing pretty much the same thing but with much less attention. Up until now, he was never in question.
I am unclear of the wording of what was illegal in 93. Was there a list?
Mostly due to the players and the players association that didn't want testing for chronic let alone steroids.2002 was the first year that MLB started testing for performance enhancing drugs. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
Yeah I don't think it's right he's the only leaked name, and there are other big names. None bigger though.I just wanna see the other 103 players tht were listed in the 2003 testing.... Although its BS tht the testing even got out in the first place when it was suppose to be anonymous in the first place and lists were suppose to be destroyed after the testing took place.
I will guarantee that there are other big names that will be on tht list.
