Shallow mount subs?

Being that I have a F150 supercrew and was going through this over the past year...I found that Treo SSi 10" and DLS Iridium or Nobelium 10" would work in that box. But, like mentioned earlier...becareful of clearance issues (surround slapping on the carpet).

I eventually added a 2.5" seat lift to my rear seat and was able to fit the 12" MAGs in my signature (downfiring) without any issues. The box is 2.2 ft^3 (net).

Good Luck.

Hey, I know this thread is way old, but I had to throw in my .02: I'm going through the same thing right now with my '05 Frontier CC. As far as 12's, personally I wouldn't go with them. You would be surprised what a single 10 in a truck cab is capable of. The problem with the 12's is they require too much air space. Even if you get one shallow enough to fit, you may run into airspace problems. You can get a lot more options with 10's that have the right depth, and don't require a lot of space. Just my opinion.

Although 10" subs will do fine in a truck (enclosure). Alot of 12" subs will do fine in smaller emclosures as well (depending on the sub). 12" SI MAGs work fine in a sealed .70 - 1.5 ft^3 (recommended 1.0 ft^3) enclosure. Like I mentioned, I got 2 12" MAGs to fit...and they sound GREAT!!!!

I know that TC Sounds is coming out with these in a bit:

This one is not on the site yet, but should be before not toooo long.

Its a 10" in wall sub that is only 3" deep! We use a huge neo slug outside the coil and copper vc for high BL product. Ideal for very tiny boxes or... walls! This one will install into a standard wall in any just about house. Its also idea for small cars that can’t fit huge drivers. You can potentially make a subwoofer box that can fit right under your seat.

12" version may come later but it will be 3.8" deep so it won’t work in walls, but can still work in many slim areas where space is a premium.

Prices:

$309 for the 12 TC-SMT NEO DVC-Al

$275 for the 10 TC-SMT NEO DVC-Al

$285 for the 12 TC-SMT NEO SVC-Cu

$248 for the 10 TC-SMT NEO SVC-Cu

the Cu's (copper vc) will be geared for small in-wall applications or very tiny boxes.

The Al's (aluminum vc)will have a much low impedance and can be used in a larger (small) box

These prices are higher than most all shallow mount subwoofers, but these drivers use more neo and have more excursion so they should be able to embarrass the competition. Originally we used a 70 dollar piece of neo inside each one, but that was far too costly, and I don't think people would have wanted to pay for what it would cost for us to prophet, so we optimized the magnet shape to reduce the price without much compromise to the power of the motor. Neo is not cheap and that’s why it’s used to rarely. Also not many companies have the magnetizers to even magnetize neo, but we do.

These puppies should be out pretty soon.

The plan as it sits:

As I mentioned in another thread production is ahead of information being released at this point. With the problems getting it to market we decided to wait until we had the jump on the project.

The SQ10 Driver will not be for sale until it is in stock (just like the Eu-700). Due to the shere demand of them we fear how many could sell with a pre-order and believe not doing one is a better way to service our clients.

What we are doing :

A simple sign up contest style drawing. You can sign up on the list. What this does is enter you in a drawing to be 1 of 4 people who will win a brand new SQ10 and select the voice coil configuration you'd like to have. This drawing will take place when the items ship.

It also means you'll have first dibs on the product. Before it goes up for general sale you'll be notified first and get the best price. The same as what a group buy price would be. I can tell you right now I don't think many people expect us to price this where we are going to. It's going to rustle some feathers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If you have any questions about the production, applications, or anything else please feel free to ask. We'll do our best to answer your questions as quickly and honestly as possible.

Hey folks!

I new here and just saw this thread.

I have a question.

What do you guys think about putting some of these shallow mounts on the rear doors of a Honda Ridgeline?

I'm sure this has been done before but,

I can't seem to find and threads on "subs in doors"

What do you think? Do they sound good in doors?

Or where should I be looking in this forum?

Thanks in advance

nobody in their right mind is going to purchase any of your shitty products or deal with your even shittier company.

be a man if you drive a single cab. Im running a BTL 12" Fully loaded with the 3rd mag.x
I don't have a problem with a single cab, but the kids got alittle cold last winter ridding in the bed!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

How much dampening do you do in those doors?

You don't have 12" openings do you?

I was just hoping to drop some 8" shallows where the factor 6.5 were in the rears. I know I will have to do a little mod work, but not that much.

Any thoughts?

Are you pleased with how they perform in the doors?

what is your limit on sub depth?
I'm pretty sure I can get 4.5 inches in the doors. But until I acutually do the cutting I really don't know.

All I Know is that this seems to be my best option for bass.

The ridgeline has almost no room behind thr rear seat.

Any recomendations?

Or more importantly anything or product lines to stay away from??

Thanks
