Setting up new system, need help matching what will and will not work!!

Hey guys, Needing some help as a newbe at this, years ago I've setup few systems, but that's been years ago and technology has changed a lot! This set up is going to be in a small offroad 4x4 2 seater tubed style car, so everything I'm using will be marine. The main thing I need help with, is what type and size of amp to use, I want to use something fairly cheap, as being exposed to the outside elements can take its toll on things! Hate to spend $800+ on an amp that I mess up from water! So i'll make this short and do my best here.

I have limited info on the front speakers and subs as they are a factory brand in molded enclosure's

front speakers-"two" 6" 50w

Sub-"one" 10" 500 watt (250w RMS)

Rear- "two" 6 x 9 Peak: 550 watts each, RMS: 275 watts each, 2-way Wake tower Speaker

As for a head unit, I do not have much room at all, and really do not need a cd player, This is what I had in mind, then just use an Ipod plugged into it

JENSEN AM/FM/USB Compact Waterproof Stereo

So what kind of marine amp should I run? How many watts? Channels?

The few amps I was looking at are Boss, Clarion, or Audiopipe?

This is the audiopipe I had in mind?

APMR-4080MIN - 1200 Watt 4-Channel MOSFET Mini Marine Amplifier

So, What does this look like? Am I anywhere close to being on the right track what so ever? Please feel free to tell me anything you see here and don't like? Or do like, I'm up for any suggestions!! Like I said the only thing I'm really stuck to are the fronts and sub. I can change anything else! Any help will be great!! Thanks

Sounds like mostly junk. Hate to tell ya. Prolly won't last 2 trips off road here. What are your goals ? I'm sure I or some of the other vendors could recommend so equipment. A budget does help to

Well something that will sound decent, reliability I'm not too worried about, seems like a lot of other guys in my shoes replace things all the time, whether its a avg name brand amp (kenwood, sony, etc) or cheapy (pyle, boss) they all seem to go bad sooner or later, I've even heard of a Wetsounds amp going bad!! So If I get a amp that half way cheap, not going to bother me if I have to throw away and replace! Even on the head units, guys will just pitch and replace as needed! The speakers I posted seem like most guys are doing ok with (one guy had this sub under water, still going fine) , but just not much power. there is just not a lot of options with the tight space! I'm looking to be somewhere around $1k on it. I don't need it to be overkill, just decent sound and hope it will last a year or so?

Oh, and I've seen where guys that just run a head unit, 2 6" speakers, (no amp) and be done with it. Not very loud but works for them, I'm just trying to get a little more out of mine

I completely understand where your coming from. I'll seek if I can work up a deal on amp , some speakers and a decent deck if you like

Clarion XC amplifiers are marine rated, as well as the M502 head unit. We stock them. These parts are vastly superior to the other brands you listed. If you can post more details about the speakers and subwoofer I will figure out exactly which models of amplifiers to recommend and how many.

I cant seem to find anymore info on the sub, like I said they sell it with the encloser that fits this machine. I may have to call and ask for spec on it, Can anyone give me some direction on what size amp I'm going to need with the watts speakers I'm using? Maybe a brand also that may hold up better? Like I said I know guys getting by with junk pyle stuff. but I judt didn't want to go that route.

It says it's a 250 watt rms sub so a small amp is all that's needed

Monoprice has cheap marine speakers, when the go bad buy a new pair! Problem solved
