So i have polk audio db 6501 components up front and polk db 651 rear coax speakers. I am using the stock headunit from the factory with a lc6i and a ppi900.4

I tapped off the front right and left speakers and sumed them together to get a signal.

At first i didnt use the crossovers that came with the components and was only powering the front and rear door speaker, the tweeters off the headunit. Sounds pretty good but too much bass.

I added the crossovers for the front set and it obviously sounds different but to me not as good quality as just the 4 door speaker's being powered. I have to set my hfp on the ppi all the way up to get the speaker's to have hardly any bass because if i set it at 100 the rear doors have too much bass.

Would you keep it this way? It doesnt actually get loud until volume 25 but my sub starts slamming at volume 17

That's nothing but an annoyingly common phrase to try to sound smart. Don't say "gain is not a volume knob" until you can explain how it differs...
