Setting sub gains.

I know the formula for gains... but I have one question.

Should I set +6 or 0 as the default?

I listen to a lot of rock that could use more bass (oldies rock songs) and I could use +3 once in awhile.

But then again, if I set 0 as the default, turning it down to -6 might not quiet down songs like Late Nite Tip.

What do ya think? I'll probably have to turn my sub down -3db anyway, so it's not that loud and keeps up with my music.
