Selling L7's what to get now?

I'm thinking of selling my 12" L7's and getting something smaller for my 03 maxima. But I love the way they hit but I need to save space, and my box weighs a ton since it's ported. Does anyone know of one sub the can be sealed that would give me similar results to the L7's?

SPL-wise you are talking about? the only sub that I can really think of would maybe be a XXX or Brahma because L7's get pretty loud. I've never heard them in sealed enclosures either so idk...

lol ill get messed with on this but if you want to slam in a small box (looks around....finds cover...) audiobahn imortal 12" in about 1.7 cft aero ported tuned to 40 hz and throw about 2kw of power at it lol should work decent as a daily as long as you dont be a volume master with it

Try a sealed box a friend of mine have them in a sealed box and he is pounding. I think 3cu.ft. in a eagle talon. they will get loud in a sealed box but kicker just recommend they be in ported boxes. If you don't like the sealed box why not try the 10" L7's or the L5 12".

seen 153 with one tuned this way granted was a crx box in a crx but thats still pretty good...didnt say it sounded good lol then again most of what i see and hear are borderline anyways lol

Well I'm looking for a sub that is going to sound good but low. I know I would be doing my subs wrong if I put them in a sealed box. Thats why I'm trying to get them a new home.

can you clamshell them? way low...small box??

Honestly, it takes a lot of power to make a sealed pound like a ported enclosure. I mean, rediculous amounts of power. You're already running two L7s, so I'm assuming you have a couple kW running to them already. To get the equivalent from sealed you'd have to double that and even then, probably won't be as loud. Actually, I guarantee it won't be as loud. It wouldn't be worth it, to be honest. If you want a smaller enclosure, you're going to forego SPL for SQ. Simple as that, sorry. It just won't be as loud.

Well thats the thing I'm not going for spl anymore. Since I have screens in my car I'm looking for something deep and low. That I could have one 15" and still get my spare tire out.

There are lots of drivers that will go deep and low. Heck, a single 10 RF Punch in a sealed enclosure will have pretty good low-end extension. The question is, how much do you want, and how much power can you give it?
