Setting off car alarms

Today... I set off my first car alarm. I wasnt trying to or anything I had the volume on 20 out of 35 which isn't THAT loud.

My question:

What causes the car alarms to actually go off?

the shock sensor, as in if someone shook the car

people set them to sensitive, ive seen exhaust set them off

i installed my own car alarm and i have my sensor pretty low, i've never had

an accident arming...

I've set a couple off in a parking lot that were relatively close to my truck.

The exhaust on my old camero would do it. Idle through a parking lot and I would usually set at least one off. Some time I could do it with my stereo.

I just put it on my sig. its in a huge sealed box so its louder than it seems

my exhaust on my explorer sets off alarms sometimes. like once a week LOL

ps i do a 151 at volume 15 out of 40.... oh wait what does that matter if it peaks out at 18
