I am running a 5 channel amp and i had my stuff installed and he set the gains however i didnt ask what these do or what if i want to change em what will happen. I know my speakers are set at 50 percent and my sub gain is 25 percent what happens if i turn it up or down etc. Also they have like a hz dial for the speakers and a lp and hp dial for the sub. What does all this stuff do. I dont want to always have to have shop set these. Sorry for being a noob

Gain - Used to the match the pre out voltage of your amp. It is not a volume control however, as you will induce clipping if you raise it too high. You can set it with a DMM or an O-scope

LP - Low pass filter. Any frequencies above where this is set will not be played. If it's set at 80 hz, anything 80 hz and above wont' be played.

HP - High pass filter, basically the opposite of the LPF. Any frequencies below where this is set will not be played.

What amp is it?

Its a boston aucstic 5 channel gta 1105

Looked up your amp.

On the speaker side....

The switch is used to go from using a low pass filter, to having no filter (full), or having a high pass filter. My previous post states what these do. The HZ dial just lets you pick what frequency you want to use either the LPF or the HPF at.

Gain, read again in previous post

For the subwoofer side

The gain, read previous post. The LP is your low pass filter. I normally set mine at 80 hz for my subs. The HP is basically your subsonic filter, or SSF. Any frequencies below this wont' be played. And the Q I'm not too sure, think it's like a bass boost.
