setting low-pass on an amp

I have a 12" SI Mag in a 2.5 ft^3 box tuned to 32 hz. It's powered by a Massive P1000.1 (880W RMS @ 1 ohm).

The Massive has a low-pass filter from 40 Hz to 180 Hz. For the first 8 months, I had it set to 40 Hz. I didn't know what it was for, until I read the manual (yeah, I'm stupid). Anyway, I have it set to about 120 Hz, but should I just go ahead and set the thing to 180? I know I want more then just sub 40 Hz, but how high would you recomend?

120hz is quite a bit high. 180hz is way too high.

Set it to where ever it blends best with the rest of the system.

Realistically for most installs that won't be above ~90hz.

I would try to keep it in the 80hz or lower range.

a good starting point is 80 and go from there maybe try 70 and 60

****, so I went from too low to too high. Thanks for the suggestions.

BTW, I'm not a big fan of rap, but when I had it at 40 Hz, Yung Joc became my favorite CD when I was trying to show off my bass.
