Setting gain with DMM

Ok the AC output was going up to like 34ish volts.
Then I think I broke my multi meter cause I acidently set the switck to x1k ohm and it went all beserk now it wont go on anymore. Hopefully it just drianed the battery.
good meters have a fuse to protect...open it and look

u could use a meter set to diode test:p:eek:r

most of the time u can look at small ones like that and the filament will be broke
I am pretty sure its blown there is like mist on the glass. I need to get a digital one anyways.

Ok well here is what I found out from my latest tests

at 60 HZ If I turn my gain all the way up it goes over well over 40 volts (didnt get exact reading because I only had the meter set to 50)

If I have it turned up about half way it gets me to 31 where I want to be on the 500 watt bridged channel. Everyone is telling me to keep my gains down. Would half way be considered down?

yes that fuse is blown

that would be perfect...

that would be perfect...
Alright. I turned the settings a bit after I blew the fuse cause I did not have it at the right volume but I think I have it just about right.

I am going to get a Digital meter just to make sure though.
