I use AT 60mil. That was all I needed in conjunction with my deadened speaker baffles, I was good.

I just need to get some more CCF to work on door rattles from the midbass and maybe more MLV for my seals.

i do not have them deadened yet but i will be getting them sealed up for sure. thats what i am looking into. i may get the audio technix or maybe try that new stuff from sonic electronics that nvx

That will help the mid bass more then anything else

the baffles help to decouple the speaker from the door and help with resonances/vibrations that screw with your sound.

So i would like to know what i would need to do to have a good sounding active setup. I would like to have the tweeters play from 1.2khz on up have my mid-highs play from 400hz-1.2khz have my mid to lows play from 80hz-400hz? I got the subs taken care of 80hz down already its just everything on up that i dont understand yet.

You dont need to run your X the same, as in Mid roll off @ 3k and tweeter roll on @ 3k. In fact you'll often get a bump/hump at the X over point when there the same.

At 12db you could cross the mid 2.5k~2.8k and your tweet at 3.2k~3.5k, this will give you a smooth cross and will sound better at high volume.

A one inch tweeter will get hot under power if you run it much under 2500. If your using a true Mid range driver? you could even go as high as 5k.

Best to play with it and find where you like it.

tweeters lower at normal volumes, and as the heat rises on the tweeter voice coil, so would the cross point.

But for now, most 1" tweets want to see 3k and up.

I'll extend that wish-list to the low end too.. it'd be nice if the HPF for mids could change with volume. Play the front stage lower at low volume where the subs are inefficient, and raise it up as the power increases. Ah, well, I can dream.
