Sealed or Ported L7

Which would be better for a kicker solobaric L7 12" sub. A ported or sealed box?

Have yall heard any good things about those subzone boxes?

I had the 15inch L7 in a sealed box that was 3.25 cubes and it sounded pretty good. I did not get as loud as the ported by any means but the sealed helped with it's transient response and overall SQ. It really depends on what music you listen to, how much space you have, and how loud you like it.

Mine was also in a sealed box. Sounded decent, and still pounded. But really came alive in ported.

You cannot beat the right ported enclosure for a sub IMO. "It comes alive " is what I hear time and time agian when people switch from sealed to ported. I usually build two boxes one sealed and one ported and switch to see the difference in my car.

i've just seen their sealed with 12" kicker comp VR's

but never heard their ported.

The Subzone boxes look o.k. for prefab but you need to make sure that they are tuned to a freq that you want. You also want to make sure that they are made of .75 inch mdf. These boxes look a little better than the others on the same site. I do not know if they make this line for the L5/L7.
