Good pair of 10s for sealed/ported

Going with 10s so I can fit them nice and neat in my Mustang's trunk. Planning on running them in a cheap sealed box till I can either save up for a made-to-spec box or make one myself when I get time and space to do so.

Not tryna spend a whole ton so on the lower end of things I was thinking CT Sounds Tropo and on the higher end, SSA Demons. Price of demons is about how high I'm willing to go for each sub.

I had a Tropo 12 in a fairly large (2.25 tuned to 35ish) that got pretty loud and sounded a lot better thab i thought it would even tho I just had a lil SFB-600 on it. But unsure how they'd sound sealed. And I've never heard a Demon in person but people seem to have good things to say about them.
Also open to other suggestions.

Tryna go for flatish, not boomy. Would prefer it on the louder side but still on the SQ side, so was thinking 1.2 cubes for each subwoofer sealed, and 1.25 cubes each tuned to 32. Will be going on a JP13

It's great to hear about your experiences with the Tropo 12!

Damn I forgot about Dayton Audio I'll have to look into them

What's the reason you recommend against the Demons?

SSA used to be fantastic don't get me wrong but seems they have pretty much died off. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from their site but their products are always out of stock even when they say "in stock" and quite a few complaints about quality these days. I wasn't exactly happy with my Evil 18s but I will say Aaron did give me good customer service. Daytons warranty is hard to beat and Parts Express has a sale going on right now.

Sad to hear. I never got around to trying any of the SSA items, but I did co.e close to buying an Icon 15 a few years back. Their component speakers also looked pretty good and well built as well, although on the pricier side. I did notice the constant out of stock items tho. Seems to be the same with a lot of the lesser known brands.
Pretty sure Crescendo is dead from what I can tell. I can never find Ampere in stock either. NVX has almost doubled the price on their VCW line.

I have heard mixed things about PE subs tho. People either love or hate them but I e heard good thing about the Ultimax series, but not much about the revised ones that came out last year. I'll look into em

While I was checking out the Dayon subs I ran into the Adire KMH subs. I've heard good things about their higher end models but never seen or heard them in person. The KMH series is on back order so I searched the model # on Google and found that Colossal Sounds has an identical model.

They appear to be good for what I'm looking for and and price is decent. Anyone have experience with either the Colossal Sounds or Adire versions?

These sound great but you'll need a smaller sealed box...like .5 cuft per sub

Are they able to hit low and not get boomy in that small of a box? .5 cubes is tiny.

I used one as a front sub and had it in a box just big enough to fit in. It was still doing good down into the low 30's high 20's. I had to set my hp filter higher than I wanted to keep it from dropping low...i was hoping that little box would choke it out down low but i was wrong 😂

I've played with it in a 1 cuft and it's good on 300w for home theater lows but doesn't sound as good playing music as the tiny box
