I'll bet you both are discharging your batteries super fast on that low note check voltage at the amp when that note hits

you know my setup. i have a voltmeter hooked up to the 0gauge right at the amps input. its gone into protect at 13.7 before also at 12.9 and 13.3 it varies and i know its correct i checked also with a multimeter

But have you watched the voltage and seen how far it went down when the amp went into protect That's what you need to know. Even if it's just a split second if your not watching when it does go into protect you might still see a 13.8 I had a system do the same a few years back as soon as I turned it up and it hit this one certain bass note the amp would protect. My voltage always looked good. But I was told to watch the voltage at the amp when playing the song. And sure enough when it played that heavy bass note. I dropped from 14.4 to 8 volts quickly. The amp protected. And the voltage went back to 14.4 right after

don't they make a dip volt meter that will do a hold at the lowest point? maybe I'm making things up in my head but I could swear I've heard of a dvm before.

*edit* I may be a retard on this one, can't find anything... but if there are meters that will hold the low point as opposed to the high point that could help.
