Can I get away with this?

I would like to get a decent amp to power what I have now and still be useful later when I upgrade.

I have a 300 watt powering my L7 12 atm @2 ohm load.

I was considering something like a vfl 120.1 or a Crescendo BC2000d to slam the hell out of the L7 till it blows / I upgrade subs/box.

Would I be able to get away with keeping my 55ah yellow top in the trunk and wiring the new amp with 0 ga. and leaving the 4 Ga from the front batt / alt in place? Stock 80 amp alt. 93 ah total - 100amp fuse.

Despite both the Vfl and BC2000D being 1ohm (or less maybe) stable, I'd be running them at 2ohm for about 1k rms and leaves me with the chance to use the amp later to it's full power with proper wiring / alt upgrades.

I figured running a BC2000D at 2ohms would work for a year or so. I took the alt out and had it re-built not long ago (free w/ a friend) but it should be upgraded when I blow the L7 and upgrade box/subs. How long is the L7 likely to hold up?

I've been considering running two Lethal Injection 12's after the kicker dies. I have considered American bass also but I find it frustrating looking up specs on anything they make, finding places to buy the products and lack of information. From forum posts it seems the Incriminator Audio products are better SQ than AB anyway.

There is an american bass rep on here, mylows10, he can help you out, I trust and use him often, and I am not the only only one. Hit him up, may be able to help you too, with the ab line and much more.

I would add a run of 4 guage and a battery . Going fom a "300 watt" amp to an ab120.1 is a huge leape if not upgrading the alt we need to make sure we are getting as much ampreage to the amp from the alt as possible so... Run another run of 4g to be safe and put another batt on it.

I love my ab 150.1 so don't get frustrated and not consider it. The incrimator ia20.1 is a nasty amp but dayum the are proud of it.. Last I checked it was like 720$ and an ab120 is like 500
