Rewiring speaker wire question

I was thinking of putting a new head unit in my car. It has the factory gm monsoon stuff so I hadn't messed much with it besides adding a sub. Alright I know when running rca's for an amp, you run down the opposite side of the power wire to avoid interference. Does it matter when running speaker wire? And if it does, how do you avoid getting the interference?

speaker outputs are high level and are not subject to futher amplification - thus you don't have concerns about noise.

i assume you are going to bypass the monsoon amplifier and run new wire direct from HU to speakers?

Yea that's what i was looking to do. I will end up having to change out some speakers in the process as well. The stock rear highs are 4" and just are pathetic. The rear stock 6X9's were the subwoofers and just didn't get along with the pressure from an added sub so I pulled them plus they were 2 ohm. The fronts are a 5.25 plus a tweeter but had the crossover built into the amp from what I can tell so I'll be looking at putting a cheaper set of comps in the front to replace those. I could just add a hu since the monsoon amp is a high level input but as the volume goes up, sound quality drops to nothing.

Yea that's what I'm thinking too. Premium factory systems just make things harder to upgrade. But I know it'll be worth it for the money and work involved.

Another question involved with this. I've seen the numerous speaker adapter plates before. Do they make one that adapts a 6x9 hole to fit a 6.5" speaker? I know it would have to be at a slight angle to fit but can't remember seeing one. Since the rear has both a 4" and 6X9 speaker, I figured I could get more fill by utilizing the larger hole instead of the small one. I know I could get a 5.25" easily into it but wondered about the 6.5". Thanks.
