If you dont know how a soloX 18 on a warhorse would compare to 2 L5 15's on 1000 watts you dont need to waste your money.

I know it will be louder, wtf how am I suppose to know this if I don't have the sub or have herd it before?

Max, no. And it's hard to say if it will be louder, although I would think an 18 on 4k watts would be pretty **** loud but it depends on the vehicle it's going into as well. Alright well I'm looking for a bit more room in the rear with a more effective sub(s) so the box need for a 18" will be less than 2 15s correct? Although I would like to know 2 L7 15"s vs Solo X 18", but maybe someone who just happens to of had both will come by, doubt it though. What amp would you suggest with one?(Not looking at the warhorse anymore if its not safe to max it out all the time, no point in damaging it)

Also there are better 18's than the kicker Solo X (albeit a good sub itself )

Ya well I know there is pretty much always 'better' choices out there to everything. I think the square designs will gave me way more 'boom' though, not necessarily Dbs, but more vibration right? More surface area on them, makes sense to me.

One other question, will 2 subs give more 'even' sound throughout the vehicle? Or would I not even notice one vs two?
