problem with new AA Arsenal Unbelievable!!

Well, I called no less than 50 times today between 12p and 6p and got no answer. I guess they were closed today. Everybody deserves a vacation.

Believe you me, this makes no sense to me. That is why I am so puzzled. I can't wait to ship it back and to hear what they say is wrong with it. When I analyze the sub, it looks spotless and mint. It doesn't smell funny or anything abnormal.

I wonder if the pressure change in the sealed box with the temp change messed something up, like some weird suction. I know I'm thinking outside the box here, but I don't have extensive knowledge of the motors in those AA subs, or really any sub at that.

I have the sealed box completely sealed. Is that correct, or should there be a way for air to escape, like with temperature changes? A very small space I'm talking, like pinhole?

If'n I would have spl burped? What is that btw? This thing has only seem some jazz, a few country songs, and the NOW 21 cd.

I don't understand why it is so stuck. Is it possible for the magnet to be grabbing something and not letting go?

Just a cheap old Canon 3.2 megapixel sureshot A70.

I take most of my pics on the 2nd to largest setting with fine detail.

They can get larger, but its best to use the small picture setting, b/c they take so much less space on a dig camera card.

maby it was what people thought was wrong with my mt.Maby the mag shiffted and is jaming the coil.

well, thats out..looks to be fine to me.

only other thing i could think of would to be to test each coil with a dmm...if things happened the way you said, you shouldnt have problem getting it warrantied..

yea test the coils out man. see if they read the correct resistance.

also see if you can get a tiny flashlight and check the coil inside there. you can see it in the pictures pretty well. if its at all dark or discolored (looks burnt) that would be the cause.

also does it feel like eaither of those magnet slugs have shifted at all? that would definatly cause the problem you are describing.

It already is, trust me.

Just checked the resistance with my DMM. I used the setting on mine where you get the little whistle. Both vc read 04.3 ohms. Is that the correct setting on the DMM?

Mine is made by electro tek.

looking close at the spider in this pic..seems like the assembly is cocked over at a not so straight angle...if the coils read fine, its a factory defect..

did it sound okay when it worked?

EDIT: actually, looking at it closer...it looks like both slugs are shifted to the left in that pic...which would explain the whole assembly being shifted..

Soooo, you might not be to far off in your assumption that the heat may have got to it..they might just be using some bs glue to hold the t-yolk, slugs and top plate together...and looking at my assassin, i wouldnt doubt the glue not holding up very well.
