PAYPAL?!?!? What should I do?

As some may know I got scammed by a user(mrscotty) on here. I purchased a JL 1000/1 for $380 shipped and received a box of a bunch of sh!t.

Anyway as most know, Paypal does nothing about this, so I went str8 thru my bank.

They were quick to report the fraud claim and sent a statement out for me to sign(basically stating that I wasnt lying) and then did a full refund of the money, no questions asked.

Well today I sign on to paypal and the money was taken out of there, and they said since it was a closed acct. that I would have to pay them the money.

Their reasoning that they cant do anything is bc the sender actually sent something(just wasnt what I paid for). I asked if I could do this(even tho I wouldnt bc of morals) to pay them back bc that is the only way they would get the money, and they basically couldnt tell me no.

So my choices are:

#1 Dont pay paypal the money..... and just not use the acct

#2 Pay them back the money:crap:

#3 Do the same thing that was done to me to get my money back(dont think I would ever do this)

i think you need to continue to persue the guy that ripped you off. Or possibly inform paypal that he has their money.

Make a new Paypal account with different card. Not sure if that will work because it requires name, but it should.

I got screwed over on here for $1100, don't recall the username, but there is a big thread on here started by me about the ******.....

Anyway, I did the same thing you did with the bank........and the same thing happened with my paypal. I decided to set up another account (have to use different email and CC). That account is fine, but about 3 months later I started getting letters in the mail from collections. I called to dispute and they never called me back. It has been almost 5 months since the last letter.....

BTW, there is nothing on my credit about collections.

Same thing happened to me, but when the bank reversed the credit charges it came out of the money I had sitting in my paypal account from some other item I had sold. So I got refunded my own money //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

paypal is going to get it someday. They suggest to people and market the use of their service to people not using ebay, but when it comes to some fraud shit they say "oh well if you didnt buy it thru ebay, you're fvcked"..... how long do you think that is going to last?

probly too long.... I think its funny that Paypal was created to keep your card information privated to prevent from fraud, and they have it happen more than anything...

If you discontinue to use the other paypal acct they will send collection notices to you. This happened to me over $50 lowzy dollars. But I ended up paying them to make them happy, after all it was kinda my fault.

You can create another account using your name and card n stuff, except your email.

In otherwords, one way or another paypal will try to get the money out of you. If you luck out you may not have to pay jack shit.

yea I am not planning on paying them...Paypal told me that the best thing to do is to get local police on it...I dont think it will do any good tho....

Do you think my bank talking to them would have any effect?
