Hopefully this is a quick question that someone can explain for me...

If I hook up two MTX Blue Thunder Legend (4 Ohm version, 250rms, 500w max EACH) subs to an Orion 8002 amp will I be getting 2 x 200w @ 4Ohm or 2 x 400w @ 2Ohm. Would somebody mind explaining this for me or pointing me in the direction of some literature that will help. Thanks a lot.

Would somebody mind elaborating on this a bit for me. I see the following diagrams that will make the amp "see" the subs @ 2Ohm and @ 8Ohm but not 4Ohm. As you can see I'm a novice at this and just trying to learn so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Orion 8002 Specs:

Amplifier Type: 2-channel

RMS Power @ 4 Ohms: 200W x 2

THD at 4-Ohm RMS Power:

Bridged RMS Power @ 4 Ohms: 800W x 1

Speaker Level Inputs: no

Preamp Outputs: yes

Built-In Crossovers: HP/LP

Bass Boost: 0-10 dB

Frequency Response: 20-20,000 Hz

Signal to Noise Ratio: 78 dB

Fuse Rating: 100 amps

MTX Blue Thunder Legend 10" specs:

single voice coil, 4Ohm, 250rms, 500w max,

Also, 200rms should be sufficient to power these subs, right? I don't have this sub yet but I'm seriously considering it. Is there something else I should be looking at in a similar price range that might be a better buy? It's around $200. Thanks.

It's a two channel amp which means you will wire each sub to it's own channel. This will give you the 4 ohm load per channel and thus 200w each channel.

200w will be just fine for those subs. I own one and it can reach it's near max potential on 100 watts.

Ive seen so many amps done this way over the years. Especially ones that had the Molex plugs and a couple others

I have created a post with all related information regarding the build under this link: https://www.caraudio.com/threads/2000-camry-build.614208/

Yes, they do. As for the Taramps remote control, it is for use with the EQ they sell, not as a remote bass knob. They are not very sophisticated...
