yea that's what I keep hearing, I have been out of the game for some years and I never heard of soundqubed till I joined this site, then I started to research them and talking to more people and now I am sold on them, I plan on doing the hdc4's I already have the aq3500d, box is in process of design, 3 batteries on the way, have a soundqubed 120.4 and working a deal on a aq 90.4 just to match the logo with the 3500, so my plan for black fri. is the 2 18's and I also wanted to pick up the sq pro audio 6's ..... just not sure on the head unit yet, it has an older eclipse with 5v preouts, but it is about 7 years old and was thinking of updating it.

Yea my car is all audioque except my ppi 4ch ..i run the pro audio 6 5s amd supertweets as well ..the 3500 is just enough power to tickle a pair of hdc4s to be honest

Order the 8" carbon caps ..theycr ****** ..i put some on mine with some aq4 logos i had made up

yea sorry cody I will try and make this my last off topic lol, ok so you said you had them made up, this was my plan, since I was getting a black fri. discount I was going to add the caps, did they make them for you? or did someone else do the logo....... also I do plan on adding another 3500 once I recover some funds(been shopping here a little too much), also how do you like the mids and tweets.

I had a vinyl guy do the logos ..and i love the mids and tweets ..properly installed and crossed over they sound great...crisp and loud.

here is what my box is :
image dynamics recommends a ported box 1.75 cu. ft. gross with a port frequency of 35hz and an f3 of 32hz -3db with a slot port 10"x1.5"x15.66"

what we ended up doing is:

ported box with 2.2 cu. ft. net ( after displacement means minus the port and subwoofer volume) tuned to 30 hz with an f3 of 29hz port is 13"x1.5"x26.26"

this works great for me and the subwoofer I am using, we went back and forth with ID and they agreed that this box will perform perfectly with this sub at 1000 w rms.

ID recommends like 3 different enclosures: Compact, normal, and audiophile..

1.75 is their "recommended" enclosure but actually it's a compromise. I'm glad you made the right choice lol

the amp will run it, buy I would do the 2200 since you would be saving money on the sub.

It probably be easier on my electrical to run the 2200 at 2 ohm rather than the 1200 at 1 ohm huh?

Just wait til the black friday sale and make the decision then ....running the 2200 at 2 ohm would be a waste unless u plan on dropping down to 1 ohm or .5 in the future

Dude the formula for subsonic is you're boxes tune frequency divided by .75
