ok, well i'm getting a firebird, and i want to do a stealth install, so I am getting a single 10" stealth inclosure from subthump.com. its has .6 cu ft and 9 in mounting depth. i listen mainly to rock, and a little rap, so a good SQL sub is my goal. these are my choices so far, what should i get, and did i miss anything?

1. 10" TC-3000

2. 10" LMS-4000

3. JL 10W7

4. 10" ID MAX

5. 10" Brahma

6. 10" Diamond D9/TDX

thanks for the help

so basically its been narrowed down to the idmax or a tc sounds woofer. I'm not sure if i want the tc-3000 or lms-4000. Denim, why did you choose the 3000 over the lms? is the 3000 really that much louder?

thanks

Pshhhhh, of course...he wrote it in Bold so it must be true;) JK, but seriously i agree with HeloTaxi that the 10w6V2 would be a better choice than the W7
but comparing the 10w6v2 to the tc-3000 or lms-4000, wouldn't the tc drivers be better suited for a single sub setup, since they have almost twice as much xmax and higher power handling?

Depending on what you want power handling don't mean a thing. A sub that can handle 2000 RMS isn't any better because of it than one rated for 200 RMS if you only run 100 to either.

I don't have any experience with the TC subs, but I know that for a relatively low powered system, the 10W6 is a great choice for a small sealed box. With that amount of space you aren't going to be breaking any SPL records regardless of the sub. No sense in going crazy.

but if i can give each sub its rated handling, the higher rated sub will be louder.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

im not looking to break records, but i need something that can get loud and sound clean

The TC3000 was designed for super small enclosures and has huge displacement and power capabilities, seems a no-brainer to me.
i didn't know the tc3000 was built for small inclosures!! i knew the lms4000 was though; i guess that makes my decision a little easier. i will probably go with the tc3000

That's not necessarily true. Especially in a sealed box, you usually reach the excursion limit of the sub well before you get to the thermal limit of power handling. Rated power handling means about a grand total of squat when you are looking for output. In a sealed box efficiency and excursion capabilities are going to matter most.

TC-3000 good for small box like you are going to have. The TC4000 is not as efficient as the TC3000 and you only have 1 option 3ohms with it. The TC3000 has more options .5,1,4ohms maybe more not sure of all of them but at a 1ohm load it sure will be easy to find an amp to give it the power you want. I would go with the TC-3000

You have 1 more option wait for the TC-4100 it will be more effcient and smoke alot of subs out there from what I read on the TCSounds fourm.

Good luck with what ever you pic.
