Well hello everyone! This is my first thread and I am new to this stuff, so please bear with me! I have a boss BL2000 amp which I am currently running 2 10" Pioneer IMPP double coiled at 500w. I don't know the rms on the subs as I purchased them 2nd hand in a ported box. I want to get rid of them and purchase 1 12" to get more kick of my system, i.e. some heavy base. I want some advice as to what brand/type of speaker I should purchase in order to achieve this please! I hope the following info may be of some assistance

# Number of Channels 4

# RMS Power (4 ohms) 220 watts x 4 chan.

# RMS Power (2 ohms) RMS Not Stated: Peak = 500 watts x 4 chan.

# RMS Power (1 ohm) Not Stable

# Bridged RMS Power Not Stated: Peak = 1000 watts x 2 chan.

# Peak Power Output 2000 watts

# Min. Impedance Unbridged 2 ohms

# Min. Impedance Bridged 4 ohms

# THD @ Rated RMS Power 0.01%

# Speaker Level Inputs Yes

# Amp Preamp Outputs Yes

# Built-in Crossover Yes - LP/Full/HP

# High-Pass Crossover 80 - 500 Hz

# Low-Pass Crossover 45 - 90 Hz

# Subsonic Filter N/A

# Signal-to-Noise Ratio 105 dB

# Channel Separation Yes

# Bass Boost 0 - 18 dB

# Bass/Gain Remote Yes

# Fan Cooled N/A

# Fuse Rating 20A x2

2 Pioneer 6x9 on dash

2 Pioneer 6 1/2" on doors

Pioneer DEH 2300

Oh, bye the way, I am trying to be economical here, so thanks in advance

Hi, and welcome to the forum. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Alpine type R is a nice place to start. Awesome bang for your buck!

x2 from what i've heard on here they are pretty good for the money. i'm getting my self one

on a side note i had a system in my work truck up until two months ago and then my amp went into protection mode. tried everything to find the problem and couldn't. i unhooked it figuring it was a transistor or something.

today i decided to test it off one my impact batteries and what do you know, it read ok. so i hooked it up in the truck and it was good to go:clap:

i know it's off topic but i thought i would share

Well I am actually looking for both sq and loudness, but preferably a more heavy baseline! My budget is $100. max. The reason being is that since I am from the Caribbean, the dealers here up the regular price twofold, so what you guys pay, I would pay almost twice here! I heard the Alpine R already and they sound great but I would like to have more options available to me from the experienced people I see in these forums, before I make my final choice! Thanks

with a budget of $100 there's not really a whole lot of options, and a type r would be the closet to that range for what you're looking for. try looking in the classifieds you can find some good deals. good luck

Sorry, but I have to ask(newbie here!), but what are rl-p? Is that a particular brand or model of a sub? Forgive my stupidity! Oh and I may be able to go up to $150, if something is really worth it!

So its a choice between 1 12' Alpine R, rp-l,kicker and I have a friend who mentioned MTX, is MTX good by the way? I think I'll narrow my choices down to these 4 unless someone else can suggest something spectacular and within budget!
