Newbie looking for advice on subs

So its a choice between 1 12' Alpine R, rp-l,kicker and I have a friend who mentioned MTX, is MTX good by the way? I think I'll narrow my choices down to these 4 unless someone else can suggest something spectacular and within budget!
You're not gonna be able to get any of those for near $100 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. More like a dual or xplode //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I posted earlier that I may be able to go up to $150, if that may give me more options!
If you pay double what we pay...you dont really have many options //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif. I can't think of anything half way decent that can be had for $75 here //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I think I misled you all! When I say that I am willing to pay up to $150, that is exactly what I am willing to pay. I would end up paying like 200-210 for something here, but I want help on subs for the price range of actually $100-150 of YOUR purchasing power, not mine! Sorry of I led you all astray!!

Well the RL-P is well out of your price range still. It costs $239 + shipping. It is well worth every penny imo. But a budget is a budget I understand that.

You could look at the RL-i that is about $175 + shipping for the 10". That will be an amazing sounding sub, it will probably not get as loud as the RL-p or the Type R, but again it will sound amazing. All depending on the application.

Boss is a cheap amp that doesn't put out its rated power. Going by the fuses and 14.4V x 40 amp rating is a total of 576 watts, your amplifiers is probably 50% efficient, so your probably looking at 150watts x 2 rms bridged. It will have higher peaks, but unless that fuse number is a typo, no way its even 220x4 rms.

I am not trying to pick on your amp, but take into consideration the power output of you amp when buying a sub, if going with one 12", get a dual VC so you can use all of your amp to power it.

Took the specs straight of the booklet! I know that they overate their power, but 150watts x 2 rms bridged!!!...............sure about that? Anyway, I am actually looking for a sub to match my amp, that's the reason for this thread.

what about the ascendent assassin there only $75 just throwing it up there i didnt look to see if you had a amp yet so if you do and it wont work with these then just forget it.

Well thank you everyone for your input, I was educated! However I ended up getting from a friend 2 Pioneer 12" TS-W305DVC in a ported box for $140. I know it may not be as great as some of the suggestions I got, but it was the best that I could've gotten within budget and with no time lag! Thanks for the help!
