Type-R owners, need some feedback

Ok, so I just installed my 2 12's today (1242s) into a 4.7 cu ft. @ 35hz box. Amp is a Better Audio 1600m1 (1500@1ohm). Car is a 96 Honda Accord, back seats folded down.

Thinking that it's going to be a huge upgrade over my Inifinitys and that it'll give me the kick my chest hits, I take a ride and turn it up. Everything set to flat on my HU, I then started to gradually turn the gain up till it got to the max.

I was expecting my chest to hurt, etc. but nothing happened. It was louder, but I could still see straight //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I'm wondering what bodily pains your Type-Rs inflict/how loud they get .

is that the same amp you had with the other subs?

and also i think your expectations were a little high.. Rs are loud.. but on normal daily apps they arent that crazy...

install dependent, way box is firing, if it is choking off the trunk, there are a lot of factors, i had 1 15" R in my trunk did a 149.5 w/ 3kw+ actual power.

Eh, I guess I don't feel so bad after all. I needa get metered so I really know and I haven't heard anybody else's systems who have been metered.

And yes AndonD454, I used the same amp with my Infinity Refs 1230ws. With over twice as much power and 50% more excursion per sub, I expected to be blown away.

I'll get some pics up tomorrow. The subs seem to handle the power just fine and I hear no distortion at all. The amp gets as far as warm also. Not being an *** justifying myself or anything, but OK, I'll turn it down a lil

Oh yeah, I've also got about 40sq ft of Secondskin Damplifier in the trunk as well.

I dunno, my MTX 9500 blurs my vision and it's hooked up to a 1501d. I'm not too much of a type R fan, my friend's 12 Type R in a box tuned to 32hz got handed by the 9512 to the 801d, the 9512 literally was breaking his acura TL, lol. It sounds like your type R's are doin their job though, they aren't super wonder woofers and you're not gonna hit 150s with the box and setup it seems you have. I think you may be expecting a little much from that lineup.

A.) How much power does your amp ACTUALLY put out?

B.) What kind of car is this in;trunk, hatch, etc..,trunks a the most difficult by far for SPL capabilities

C.) Unless you want those things to turn into paperwieghts, turn your gains down.
