I am a newb. I am going to upgrade the sterio setup in my car. I have a 2000 pontiac grand am se 4 door, w/ factory cd. The reciever has an equalizer on it, no idea the specs on it though. I have 3/4 in tweeters, supposedly 4x6's in the front and 6x9's in the rear. Any idea on what to do? Also, whats the deal w/ component speakers.., are they add on to what i already have, ie. going from 6 speakers total to 10?

Components are usually just upgraded into your stock locations but you could add them in .. say... kickpanels. The better bet would be to replace your stock speakers with these.

goto www.crutchfield.com and click on "what fits my vehicle" so you can see for sure what size your speakers are.
