hmm....interesting because this what I was planning...execpt it won't be just sitting there but the padding removed and the sub bolted to where the seat went. I would use glass and such to make it look nice and have the ports fire into trunk or cabin (that is a later question) Why does it hurt for SPL gain? It looks like subs are closer to the mic? Even if the original poster disagrees, I am curious about it.

So the 18s would be no good because that was the plan...is there some literature i can read to see if I can modify to make it work?

I meant putting them in a spec'd box and putting it into the car like a wall execpt only 1/2 the height. (haveing them horizontal instead of the vertical I commonly see). What do you mean by that?

I did it with pretty good success... it was a great setup @ the headrest. Anyways, I wasnt trying to be rude really, just pointing out the obvious. Subs go through quality control tests, therefor mechanically the sub should be in 100% operational order, and for it to just crap out like that, it seems obvious to ME that it was blown.

Sorry for the rude post.

Stick with the Type-X over the Type-R (I own a Type-R) I think you'd be MUCH happier with the Type-X Ported than the Type-R Ported.

Just my advice.
