I thought I was the only one that noticed this... Im glad you see it too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif . My life would have been alot easier if I would have not jumped from setup to setup.

i feel your pain, i think if i added up all the money i spent on all of my setups, it would be about 5000, and if i had 5000 i could make my car not a peice of crap AND get a **** nice setup going..but it still probly wouldnt be good enough.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

ok since you didnt understand my first post i will get straight to the point, you are clipping the hell out of the sub if you keep turning the volume up even though the bass doesnt get any louder.

trunk > back seat... just fyi //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
The sub was in the back seat? Dude.... there is a huge difference from letting it sit in the back seat instead of the trunk. Its way louder in the trunk.

yeah i know all of this..like i said im no newb. But if i put it in my trunk then my deck lid rattles, trunk lid rattles, and things i didnt even know existed rattles, and i cant stand that stuff, i have very sensitive ears, and i can hear stuff rattling that most people dont care about. I get in peoples cars that have the sub in the trunk and they think it sounds great and loud- and all i hear is rattles, its not worth the few extra DB IMO. I have run many a sub stup in my trunk though, trust me, i just decided i like back seat better. and with my 4-10's i couldnt tell a difference in SPL between trunk and in cabin.

I dont want any more shyte about it:up2somet:

Its just the way you worded your first post..twas a little:crap:

Im not sure you are correct here, clipping involves sending a squared off signal to your speaker from the amp, it can originate in either that amp or the HU. Usually it is from turning the amp up too high so it starts hacking your signal to keep the extreme output up. alot of cheap amps are rated at full clipping, so the actual power you can use from it is considerably lower than the rating. But thats beside the point. my amp wasnt very high at all, and it was too powerful for the sub i was using, so i had plenty of headroom, and i think i avoided clipping

Well If I seen a box just sitting in the back seat of anybodys ride without being in a walled off or some kind of fiberglassing I would have LMAO! Why dont you spend the extra dough and get your whole car sound deadned and then put the sub in the back. It will sound 110% better back there and wont rattle like you are saying. Do it right I say. Also that box was too small for that sub.

i cant afford to do it right, and i dont have the time, i go to college AND work full time. And like i sad i have run subs both ways an i just like it better this way. and deadaning my whole car would be such a project that i dont think i would do it even if i did have the money or time.

But i did do my trunk and trunk lid before, and it didnt help much.

and what about people that run subs in their SUV's or in the cab of a truck - they dont have trunk gain and they get along just fine, so quit it with this ******* trunk thing already.

they have cabin gain //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
yep...

and you don't see many SUV's with the box sitting on the back seat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
