New System Arrived, but first…

I have to rant... I have only been back into car audio for about 6 month now after about a 4 year off (this was do to work, traveling and hoaring around.. but that’s another story).

When I did have time at home I installed a set of Orion amps (1200d 4002) and basically let my vehicle sit in front of my house for the 2-3 years (when ever the amps were new).

So starting at March 06’ I decide to change jobs, which gives me time to play. I gutted my entire Jeep (2000 Cherokee Classic) and wired up the remainder of my system I had laying around. This included a 1 AWG cable kit, 3x monster rca, and 16 gauge runs for the front and back drivers and two sets of Polk audio Dbi series components.

I was very happy with the component installs, but I had to get some bass… Here was what I believed to start everything spiraling down hill.

So, looking around at the time I decided to get a set of RE SE drivers. I build a basic slot ported box single chamber ~5@35hz installed it and it pounded.. but of course not enough. So I went back to design, built another box dual chamber 3.25 @ 32hz.. much better, so much so that people started asking a little to much about what I was running. These leads to me sell the subs and box a local forum member that gave me almost twice I paid for everything.

Heres a pic of them:

But I still needed bass, so I jump on the Kicker L7 06’ bandwagon and after about 4 different boxes I found a nice mix of performance and SPL. Although the 1 Kicker sub did not come close to the output of the REs it was very even in my system and I was happy.

Ironically, when I went to my Jeep the next morning I start it up and no sound, the system what gone. The thieves sure knew what they were doing, did not put a nic on my car and all the wires where still neatly put together. After being pissed for about 2 months now I decided to start over again…

Here is my only memory of that equiptment:

So that what you’re here for, system specs:

(the highs are still the same, 2 Polk Audio DBi 6 ¼ Component sets)

1 Sundown Audio SAX-100.4

1 Sundown Audio SAZ-1500d

2 12” Fi Q

The box design is going to be one of the following:

Let me know what you think;)_

well yeah. that can happen.

good luck with the new build //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I put in a cheap alarm, with a motion sencor and a paging unit. But I going to make sure if someone wants the system they are going to have to steal the jeep, because they will not be able to remove the equiptment.

Someone asked to see the component install.

Heres what I have:

you definatly are putting some time and monies in that car. good for you man. i like seeing somone do a good job and enjoy it.

good looks on the equipment too. im sure you will get a similar sound out of the q's.

as for the box, if it were mine, i would drill some holes through the bottom and bolt the **** thing right to the floor where it will sit with some nice fat washers helping out... i would then make a cover for the amps and screw that down with some security screws, try and bolt the amps to the box - leaving the head of the bolt on the outside.

a bolt something like this

that will deterr them a little bit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

because you know what. if they know where you live now, they have gotten into your car once. they will be back again.
