I have to rant... I have only been back into car audio for about 6 month now after about a 4 year off (this was do to work, traveling and hoaring around.. but that’s another story).
When I did have time at home I installed a set of Orion amps (1200d 4002) and basically let my vehicle sit in front of my house for the 2-3 years (when ever the amps were new).
So starting at March 06’ I decide to change jobs, which gives me time to play. I gutted my entire Jeep (2000 Cherokee Classic) and wired up the remainder of my system I had laying around. This included a 1 AWG cable kit, 3x monster rca, and 16 gauge runs for the front and back drivers and two sets of Polk audio Dbi series components.
I was very happy with the component installs, but I had to get some bass… Here was what I believed to start everything spiraling down hill.
So, looking around at the time I decided to get a set of RE SE drivers. I build a basic slot ported box single chamber ~5@35hz installed it and it pounded.. but of course not enough. So I went back to design, built another box dual chamber 3.25 @ 32hz.. much better, so much so that people started asking a little to much about what I was running. These leads to me sell the subs and box a local forum member that gave me almost twice I paid for everything.
Heres a pic of them:
But I still needed bass, so I jump on the Kicker L7 06’ bandwagon and after about 4 different boxes I found a nice mix of performance and SPL. Although the 1 Kicker sub did not come close to the output of the REs it was very even in my system and I was happy.
Ironically, when I went to my Jeep the next morning I start it up and no sound, the system what gone. The thieves sure knew what they were doing, did not put a nic on my car and all the wires where still neatly put together. After being pissed for about 2 months now I decided to start over again…
Here is my only memory of that equiptment:
