Ok, that really only answered one of the questions. We need an exact budget so we can recommend specific equipment, and we need to know exactly what kind of space you're working with so we know precisely what you can(or can't) fit back there. Give us some dimensions on what you're working with behind the seats.

i got about 5ft wide and about 3ft to the back of the back seats my budget is about 300 bucks
do you have all the wires you would need? also, an aftermarket headunit?

if you do, i would suggest getting a "starter" combo from ebay or something that comes with an amp and sub combo like the fusion one.

car audio gets pricey and fast

Has anyone here heard of the band performance teknique and if so is that a good brand or not my friend has that in his car and its loud as balls

Performance Teknique is terrible. I'm guessing it's in a prefab bandpass box (plexi glass front, tell me if I'm right). If you're content with that then you can just head to your local flea market or Walmart and pick out whatever you'd like. Should be able to squeeze it into your budget too. If you want a real system(Nothing spectacular, but just something that can actually get loud and sound decent), stick around and continue to save your money.

Quick, cheap suggestion.

Sub. Take your pick as far as size goes.

Amp. If you act quickly.

In your budget and allows you add a second sub later. Get in touch with RAM_Designs who posted in this thread and toss him a few bucks for a proper design. Then spend a few bucks on MDF and glue and build yourself.
