new guy with newbie question

hey whats up everybody, new guy here. im lookin to put a system in my 04 gmc 1500 ext cab. ive been out of the game for a number of years and dont know what the hot brands and items are now. im lookin for crisp sound with above average bass(no competition). anybody got this vehicle or a suggestion on a nice all around setup. i can do all the work myself, or the local shop has really fair pricing, but they push JL and kicker and clarion exclusively. any and all help is greatly appreciated. thanks guys

oh yeah, i want the subs under the backseat, no big box sitting on the seat
