You can run all the subs you want, but if you don't have the amplifier to power them all, then you are just taking up space in the trunk. Considering that you obviously have no real experience in the car audio field, my suggestion to you would be to first consider how much power you plan on running. The alternator; big three; and battery upgrades should be in your distant future.

3k for subs and amps.. i had four 12w6's with two jl 1000's but i was stolen then i got a deal on two 12 w7's with a zx 2500...i sold that and bought six old 15 w6's with no amp and now im currently pending a sale for those, but since i found me a lil project car to play around with i dont know what i want in it...i manage to take a pic of the trunk to show you guys what i have to work with

Theres no definite answer for that. Depends on what sub your running, ported vs sealed, and whether or not you want it to sound right:p The RE XXX in a ported enclosure requires a huge amount of space, looking at your trunk you'd be able to properly fit on 15 most likely. Two in a ported box you'd have to pull the backseats and build the box in the trunk and back seat area.

i going with sql setup for this lil project. i thought about doing four 13w6's in a fiberglassed enclosure i only considered jl this time because the subs does not require a lot of space..how will the XXX's work sealed

Really, if you're looking for SQ, the XXXs aren't a sound investment. I've never actually heard a XXX honestly, so take this with a grain of salt, but what ive been told is that while its incredible bass, its not nearly as clean as you'd get with JL products. If you want SQ and it's coming down to RE or JL, do the W6s. And if that whats it comes down to, W7s are the better choice, even with their prices the W7s are still cheaper than the XXX.

But to answer your question, XXX 15" needs ~2.1ft^3 a piece. Less is possible, but the more air they have the better they sound. Sealed is definitely manageable space wise, but if your paying that much for bass that big, I couldn't imagine not doing ported to get all you can out of them. Just my two cents...

oh ok...i had the thought of jl because the dont require large amounts of space and i probably will be able to go with 4 13w6's in a fiberglassed box...i will not be able to go straight across be cause the trunk start to slant close to the back i think its like 14 inches high back there if im not mistaken i will post a pic of a similar idea if i can find one. any downsides to an enclosure like this?
