need some tough subs!!!!

i had my 15" volfenhags blow out on me recently... (go figure)

i have a memphis mcd 1100 amp...

i also have a major addiction to bass! haha i am one of those guys that just never turns it down, i pound my system right below distortion everyday for about an hour tops (half hour to work, half hour home)

I need some subs that can take a beating day in and day out and that will last for a while.

obviously the subs that i had i was happy with the way they pounded so anything will be an upgrade....

looking to stay sealed for space reasons in my trunk plus i dk how good of a ported box i could build...

looking to spend no more than 500-600 for both or just for one....

what do yall recommend???

where are you at in wisconsin? dont you know the box is a lot more important than the subs? A 200 dollar set of subs will be louder in a good box than any 600 dollar ones in a sealed box, on 1100 watts.

im in fredonia, which is about 20-25 min. north of milwaukee.

i would need a box builder if i go ported, i have only built sealed boxes, although i have the tools and knowhow if someone were to help me design it first...

i;ll do whatever it takes as long as it slaps harder then the volfenhags i had! ha

What is your budget?

The subs I would look into are the Sundown SA's or the DC Audio level 3's

But as stated by amartin it is all in your box, build a solid enclosure & you will enjoy.

i just noticed the free box plans... this will make it alot easier. i know how to cut wood and put screws in it... yay!

Any sub can mess up after 30 minutes of beating on it if youre clipping it enough.

dude, i pounded these $89 a piece subs for quite a while now, if i was clipping they wouldn't have lasted nearly as long....

gain is set at about 3/4 i would know if i was clipping....

heres a pic of the 450... this is an old pic, the frame and everything else was powdered black and it has a wheelie bar now with some diff. rear tires...

Ok dude. I didn't know you only had it 3/4 of the way up. Guess you couldn't have been clipping.
