Need opinion on Watts for Subs please

Is 150w RMS Subs good? 300w max.

two of them so it would be 300w RMS, is that loud?

I want something you can hear down the street.

and thats only going for loud ness.

For some, 150W is all you need, but if you're planning on being a childish public nuisance - probably not.

Power is pretty irrelevant, though - even if you're after pure SPL, you can still be very loud off of only several hundred watts. This whole more-power-is-the-only-way thing is just uninformed.

you need to do some more research on the basics then man...... it will be harder for us to explain it to you.

This site has almost everything you need to know, but i was just suggesting that you get an alpine type r subwoofer and an amplifier that does 800-1000 rms at 1 or 2 ohms.

I was about to say the same thing. If your after SQ, it is not necessary to have more than 300 watts at all. To some people who aren't after SQ, 300 watts is plenty also. It is all in the eyes of the beholder. If your new to the car audio scene and all you want to do is impress your friends with how loud your setup is, 300 watts might not do the trick. Who knows though.

come on man, you can't argue that a type r wouldn't do the job here. It's a great sub and can take alot of power. I was just making a suggestion to make it easier, i know they can get loud ported and for the price only the SE can compete with it.
