my amp. I have the Alpine MRV-1507 and it puts out a lot of power. I would like just one 12 cause I already built the box for it (1CF sealed)... Basically, I just want a sub that hits hard and sounds great. I was looking at the KAPPA PERFECT12DVQ

12" (RMS 400, peak 1600), but was wondering what else was good out there considering I am an infinity fan... Thanks

man i had that amp, lovely, but sold it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

but i got the jbl 1200.1 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif , i neva really herd the 1507 cuz i had the sony ****, and kept blowin the sub takin it back to best buy, so i neva really got to hear what it sounded like, i know it's powerfull as hell though...

ok ok not a K try an O or A

a's are more exspensive...

well ed underates there stuff anyway, it should be able to take 400watts easily, where did u guys get 900 watts from //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

yea but thats at 14volts i pretty sure unless you got a yellow or cap ur stock car wont produce a constant 14 volts mine is only 12.7-13 or so....hmm wt that said maybe i should buy a cap, so i can run my amp at 17volts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

or just buy one of those 42volt batteries //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

You're still gonna be seeing around 700w or so at 12V........which, IMO, is too much for a single K.

So, how much can you spend?

From the fact that the amplifier is rated to produce 900 RMS @ 4 ohms ...
and the carsound.com review that says it does 455x2 @ 2 ohms stereo (910 RMS @ 4 ohm mono)

http://www.carsound.com/reviews/amps/Alpine_MRV-1507.html

By the by, check out the incredibly high signal-to-noise ratio (118 dB for a 1 kW amp is impressive ... Hell, for any amp, that's impressive ...)
check out the test sheet on the alpine amp to see how underated it is. I guarantee it's impressive!

I have a couple hundred to spend on the sub. The guy that I had bought the amp from had 2 MTX 12's running on it, and it was hitting pretty hard (I heard it 4 cars behind me, over my stock system). I would like to have something like that, but hitting with only one 12... it would be pretty sweet to hit like that, but then be able to say that its only one. So do you guys think that the Magnum D2 is the one that I should get?

It can't be beaten for $300 or less...IMO......but it might be out of your price range......i've seen an IDMAX .v3 on the boards used that a pretty respected member has......around $250 if you can't afford the Magnum.

Personally, the D2 is my favorite woofer to date, in any price range........tight, transient, low, and loud.......that's what i'd go with.......well........that's what i did go with //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks Jmac, and everybody else, I think thats what I am going to go with the Stereo Integrity Magnum D2, or just the D2. Now, by show of hands, who wants to buy me one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
