I recently got some old school 12" eclipse sw8122dvc aluminum subs and was wondering if this box (link below) would work and sound ok. I cant find a manual or any info on them really. Ive came across some saying that these subs are really underrated and handle way more than 500w rms? What would a good amp and size for them?

I found this in a SuperHonda forum from 2004 asking about the enclosure specs for the SW8122DVC...

"since no one knew, i called Eclipse and asked them.

So for searching functions for future questions on this:

Sealed can be anywhere from 1.65-1.9 ft3
Optimal overall enclosure for these subs are 1.65ft3 per sub sealed and that will give an great overall freq response

Optimal ported should be 2.5ft3 per sub with (1) 5 inch diameter x 14.25 inch long port per sub."

Hope this helps.

Would this be good? Or the one in the picture if I just cutout it for a 12 instead of a 15?

Try removing all the signal from the amp, turn the gains up and down, see it is present. If it is, then the amp is the issue,if not, then it is...
