Need a little help. Please!

I hadn't either, hence why I came here for advice, I'm a novice at this, I know a little about wiring systems in and adjusting gain and all, but this had me sumpted. When I took the amp out I hadn't had any problems with it before. I just went ahead and replaced the subs and amp to be done with it in the truck. My buddy is gonna opem this amp up and check the interals and test everything and play with the gain adjustments and all, and the amp is still good i'll proably use in my celica when I'm done building it.
Well maybe the subs coil configuration was to low for the amp to make it pull more power from the amp. If it blew pretty fast. Then that may have also been the problem Also if the coils on the sub measured at 3 ohms that amp can push out 900 watts rms

So let me ask you something else, I'm getting ready to upgrade my door speaker, should I do components in all four or components in front and coaxil in rear? and I want to run them off an amp via the high inputs on the amp and run it from the apeaker outputs on the HU to the amp then to the speaker from the amp, should I use a 2ch or 4ch amp for this and what size amp, or would I be better off with a crossover in the speaker line?
