Ok I am wanting an amp for 2 12" Alpine Type-R SWR-1242D. WELL got one now but trying to find another used for less than $100. Got a very nice Type R and a dual ported box for $80 off of someone on Craigslist. Spent $10-$15 on gas but still a good deal. Anyways yea the Type R is rated at 500 RMS and im trying to find an amp that will suite it for no more than $160. Cant decide between the 4...hell not even sure if they would be good choices to get the potential that the Type R has. Did a little digging and found these 4. People heavily suggested a Cadence but their a bit pricey...the one I have listed is really the only one I think could truly make the sub sound good. Anyways yea halp? Hell suggest one that you can think of that would be decent and within my price range. So yea help a Car Audio Novice/Rookie/Noob out? Lol

Everyone tells me Cadence's products are fantastic for the price, but I've got no personal experience. If you're really in a pinch, you can always look for Profile amps on eBay. Those are my favorite budget amps.

Thought about it but also thought about would they last long. Otherwise instead of posting these 4 I would have just gotten a Sony Xplode or a Pyramid that I saw on craigslist.

Dont know too much about speakers but I do know just at 4ohms I would risk blowing my speakers...and I dont like the idea of spending $200 on subs and $200 on an amp that would blow the subs.

I got a Profile AP1000m 500rms@2ohm.
Great budget amp like new condition. 95.00 Shipped.
$110+$15 shipping on one site. Also its a older discontinued amp. Go down on the price a little and I will consider it an option.

Thank yall for the replys btw. Know im like pretty much putting down or tossing back or whatever with most of the replys...but I do actually like the input lol.

Gonna use this as a bit of a bump //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Dont wanna buy one off of the forum. Prefer some sort of site because they will offer a warranty or from someone local so if it doesnt work I can throw it through their window or maybe do something not illegal to get my money back.

ALSO a possibility with this one:

Guy I got my Alpine Type R with box off of...asking $150 could probably get for around $120. Its discontinued but apparently its supposed to be good. 2 channels...if I bridge em I risk blowing the Type Rs since it would be about 740 RMS at 4 ohms and 880 at 2 ohms. Which means 2 channels at 440 rms each at 2 ohms to power the type rs...a positive thing would be it would be stereo instead of mono though...60 watts shy of the max RMS rating of the type rs though. Not too big of a difference...guess it would depend if its overrated or underrated as well.

You're overthinking it.

The PA is a respectable budget amp IMO, but since it's not AQ or DD or Zapco or Kicker or JL blah blah blah you're going to get a lot of negative opinions from most forum frequenters...but that's beside the point.

Bridge the PA, wire the dvc 4's for 4 ohms.

The amp isn't going to do rated power, but somewhere in the vicinity. Just figure 700-800.

A pair of Type R's should be good with anything from 600-1200.

Set your gains right, use the low pass filter -- it will work fine.
