well my sub came in a couple days ago and i havent had time to make the box yet, but i have a few questions

i hooked it up not in a box its just sitting on my seat lol, and it sounds great. hits hard i like it.

but how much better will the box make it sound? and i dont have an amp for it...will the amp really make that much of a difference?

ok first yes you need a box and it will make a huge difference and yes you need a amp stop fucking trolling retard. learn to use the search button if you are serious

how can a sub sound great with no box or amp? Do you have it hooked up through a x-over or is there music running through it? well anyway if you want an amp i have that treo stil with lowered price check out the fs thread again

Where to even start on this one.

Having it not in an enclosure severly lowers the amount of jiggawatts it can handle, like in an infinite baffle install. Your also more likely than not messing with the hole on the back of your motor thats there to try to help with cooling. The back waves are not being seperated from the front waves in any way. If I'm not mistaken, this should cause some cancelation (I'm a bit of a noob at this stuff). You should be able to bottom your sub out pretty easy, especially if you trying to hit mad dbz and/or the gain isn't set right.

That's accoustically and thermodynamically ****ed. Get a box.

i power my subs with cheese crackers.

I ditched my sundown and installed a mechanism involving gerbils, gerbil wheels, wool, capacitors and wires. I'm going to patent it and do nothing but go to clubs all the time.
