Spare tire enclosure

Does having subs in the spare tire well in trunk cars firing up, have any different sound characteristics vs a normal rear firing setup?

Have anybody had/has/heard a spare tire enclosure and noticed any difference in output and Sq?

hmm, i would think depth would be an issue. maybe not. on my car i know its only about 5" deep

but it would look super clean if you did that, i'v seen some pretty stealth installs before.

I was thinking of doing that but decided to do a fiberglass enclosure this way I can still keep my spare tire. Plus it will sound better.

Yea I love the stealth look. I have atleast 8" depth plus however tall I would make my false floor to.

i had a buddy with one and and a couple tens, those cars sound good on the inside. i think your fine subs back port back unless your really running out of room.
im just trying to figure out why you would want to build it in the well instead of the trunk. usually your either out of room and need that airspace, or you want a hidden setup or something.

but from your first post you seem to be concerned about sq?

really any way you point a box will make it load off a different location so it can all effect sound.

Well Im not into SQ hardcore(yet?) but im for sure not into SPL like i use to be.

But I can have a decent amount of cargo area if I run 2 12's Sealed or 1 12 ported rear firing.
