My install's coming along nicely

12V+ power and GNDs in:

Running into electrical problems already. No audio inputs to amps yet, and yet the amps are running far too hot for unloaded amps to run. Suspect a weak GND so gonna run a 0AWG to the neg battery terminal and considering "Big 3" upgrades (higher output alt and more capacious battery, specifically). Can't build a reliable castle in the sky on a weak foundation! ;-)

You know what Ive done to keep amps from sliding around on carpets if Ive bought velcro tape and stuck it to amps and it naturally sticks to carpet. I've found this useful and thought id throw that out there. looks clean, good luck with build.

I gave it to you, I typed it all out. I wasn't rude or anything.
re-read what I wrote.

You cannot use all 6 inputs at the same time.
I'll have t re-read when I'm not eating my dinner (like I am right now) and not going to work in less than an hour!

"Cannot use all 6 inputs", eh? Sounds like I'm doomed! We will see.

Yeah, that was our original plan, but we went instead with a piece of 7 ply birch plywood glued down with construction adhesive and the carpet glued down as well. Now the amps and DSP are screwed down to the plywood. Much more secure. And we built a little platform for the DSP unit to get it's outputs up above the amps which makes using them a lot easier.

Looking pretty nice !

Looking pretty nice !
Thanks! Yeah I need to get a current pic of it. We replaced the two power distribution blocks with a single two way from KnuKonceptz! Pretty cool!

And we left the plywood bare and unfinished on purpose! At my "function over form" motto. Could the amp and DSP pit ben made to look really fancy and cool? Yes. Would that have made anything sound better? NO! It just would have looked a lot cooler and fancier.

John Kuthe...

with all this money and time invested into it i'd think you'd want to make it look just as pretty as it hopefully sounds, but your build not mine, whatever floats your boat.
Every time I think about making it look prettier I remind myself Function over Form! It works! I hope! We're gonna find out soon!

It's looking good, but it's been almost 2 months. There's too much for me to read from beginning to end, but at least you're making progress. Judging from the first page, I'm sure most of the posts are random "experts" giving their 2 cents. I wish I could get an audiophile sound processor. It looks like a lot of the stuff you got is pretty top dollar, and I can only afford the junk that "experts" despise.

No John…I'm asking you a question, forcing you to think about what you have, then give me an actual answer. So I'll repeat my query…how do you intend to run (2) front, (2) rear and (2) sub RCA's into your DSP?
i see where youre getting at.

i dont even know what a dsp is and i get it.

You just reminded me that I could go out to the diner and read all of this while I wait for my food.

So how does this motto of yours work with buying unneeded, unusable, expensive RCA's because they were 'purple'??

You have said it over and over again, They are purple, they are purple, they are purple.

how is that form over function?

They had to be some color. My installer guy was on his phone with the guy at DroppinHZs placing the order and he asked me what color(s) I wanted them and I just reflexively answerer "purple" and DroppinHZs HAD purple RCA cable! The point of me stressing they are purple is an exercise in irony!! I have yet to go on a specious rant about how purplle RCAs resulted in lower dB loss of signal than any other color in UL testing just because they look so cool! ;-) ROFL!! After all as far as signal integrity the color of the wire's insulation actually matters NOT AT ALL! Hence my joke!

Lemme see....what's wrong with this post? 1st your a member since 2008 but only have 20 posts?? Wow....nice of ya to show up every 10 years or so then barely leave a few comments/replies.

Obviously, you need to sit back and read the last 42 pages of complete nonsense about this John character. It may take ya a few hours so hopefully you got some time to kill. Then, afterwords you'll understand how huge his ego is, hard-headed as he can be, and just completely tells us no when making suggestions to him trying to help him out. All while hiring a so called Craigslist car audio installer who he claims to have a few winning installations in the past of which there's no proof.

I am not providing my installer guy's information to keep him safe from all the evil denizens here on Caraudio.com!! He sometimes visits this site and sees the jerks many are making out of themselves here, and we talk about what jerks some can be about Caraudio. He knows the Caraudio drill here well and he hates it! Many do that you never hear from!!
