My install's coming along nicely

It still receives its signal from the source. You will open up all the filters in the amps and flatten everything on the headunit. Turn everything you can to off or 0
Thanks! Yes all unused things set to 0, my installer guy did that the other day on both amps. I'll have to figure out how to do it on the HU. We didn't set the amp gains to 0 though, 1/3ish setting initially.

I have both the remote wired controller and a WinXP laptop with a USB port and loaded with the Manager program for tuning the H800, so I'm very excited to get into that and see what a POS piece of software Alpine threw together! (I know how this works!)

You will set the gains off the level of the DSP. If it puts out 4v set to 4v ect. Close enough is fine, you will adjust levels as part of the tune

Amazon said they were out of stock. So I Googled it and found one on Youtube, all 20ish mins! Pulled it down as an MP3 file to my desktop computer and I will put it on my WinXP laptop for configuring my H800 DSP and thanks!

Ain't technology grand? Free on youtube! ;-)

And I'm listening to it! Is it all great dynamically wide and intense range songs or are there test tones like pink noise? (Bet I can find that on Youtube too! BRB!)

You really need the disc. And YouTube won't be a high bit rate. This is reference tuning and you have to jump around tracks.

I know it's on spoitfy but you can't do the free one.

I like listening to it just for fun! Thanks!

And my bit rate is fine thank you very much. I'm gonna try the free one. And talking about "reference tuning" in the digital realm is an anathema! ;-)

DLed another youtube of 1 hour of Pink Noise, maybe I will get some RTA software and a good mic and go all the way once I go full active!

I think losisatool meant to say... sound quality of youtube videos is always and i mean always **** compared to a bought track. Check itunes if u can buy the tracks. There are plenty sites and programmes u can buy and download excellent studio quality tracks from.

I don't do iAnything on principle. No proprietary crap! Free over the Internet is still excellent despite what you hear.

Just take his advice, he's honestly trying to help you, and you of all people should know how bitrate and other factors affects music once reproduced on larger scale, higher end systems. Drop the money that you claim you have and be on your way, or get a less than legal copy of the **** thing if thats what you want, dont really care but just listen to the man hes trying to be of use to you and you still shut him down and take what most of the community here can agree on is not even "gud enuf". Dont believe us, play something via youtube and get the exact same track at a higher quality via whatever source itunes amazon etc and you'll see for yourself.

This is why I'm sure your treated like an ******* on other forums and I bet in real life too. A sound piece of advice that you dismiss and spout stupid nonsense in response.

I came here with my equipment bought after realizing a local shop not touch my job because I bought my own equipment and that statement offended a certain denizen population here who. well....
