My install's coming along nicely

My installer guy got ALL my Damplifier Pro stuck in today (20sq-ft), all four doors and two rear panels of Baby II, and she is sounding QUIET NOW!! Luxury Baby II! :) Music is sounding notably better already, and we don't even have my big amps online yet!

Tomorrow, start sticking the Luxury Liner Pro in with Second Skin's high temp spray on adhesive, the PHD 5.1 AF 5.25" speakers are due in to me tomorrow, and we will have everything in hand to get this install FINISHED!! Few more days of hard work to get it all assembled, the DSP basically tuned and my install will be FINISHED, at least for now!

It's pretty boring right now. Installer guy is pulling the inside plastic panels and getting Damplifier Pro everywhere he can get it. I'll take my digital camera tomorrow for some Luxury Liner Pro installation! I prom, ise!

OK, some pics of today's work:

I decided to experiment with the Boom Mats on some of the installed speakers, and since the way over deep Boom Mat interfered with the window up./down (I could hear it) and tore the back and a ragged chunk out of the Boom Mat on that speaker, I decided to cut the whole back out of the Boom Mats and use them as sort of a F.A.S.T Ring-ish back wave guide to guide the sound pressure wave off the back of the speaker and hopefully muffle/dissipate it. So I cut the backs off the Boom Mats on the 6x9 in the doors (one of which was 1/2 torn off anyway) and contact cemented two more to the rear 6x9's then cut the backs off those too:

I put one layer of contact cement (the highly flammable DAP kind!) on, let it dry pretty much then apply a second layer to both surfaces to do the contact cement thing:

I think this is a pic installer guy took of the installed Damplicfier Pro:

Boring huh? But QUIET! I love it! I wanna tear Baby II down to bare metal everywhere and Dampilify the heck out of her! ;-)

Here's Second Skin's high temp spray adhesive drying on some pieces of Luxury Liner Pro before application/installation:

We were kind of hurried to get one side door Luxury Liner Pro-ed so I didn't get any good pics of the whole inner door with Luxury Liner on it. :-( Will get one next week when we/installer guy Luxury Liner the front doors.

Uh oh!! I think I'm hooked!! I feel Feature Creep coming on again!!

My PHD 5.1 AF speaker sets are driving around in a Fedex truck as I type this, and I;m thinking of mounting the tweeters on little swivel post mounts up on the A-frames as discussed here:

Cheap, adjustable, easily replaceable tweeter pods - Page 14 - Car Audio | DiyMobileAudio.com | Car Stereo Forum

and going full active, wiring each driver to it's own dedicated amp output and really wringing out of my Alpine PXA-H800 DSP everything good it can do for me!

Seems like your system will be set up. I would truly thank your installer.
I sure hope so, and yes I am VERY grateful to my installer guy largely because he is working WITH me and not being nasty like so many here on Caraudio.com! I not only pay him well, I give him lots of stuff I call "tips" like the 60Wx2 Kenwood amp I had bought, because I figure he may use it in the future and I know I never will. I was actually sorry he used up all 20 st ft of Damplifier Pro I had purchased too! I'd have given him the leftovers!

Some of us have been doing this 15 20 and even longer. You refuse advice and you say you have "tips" for a professional installer? Your borderline dullsional..
And are so full of yourselves, you screwed yourself out of MY BUSINESS! Same as that fancy shop here in STL did! I've not NO MONEY for egos!
