My install's coming along nicely

Yeah, my CDE-153BT has the optical jacks which I'm not using.

Yes, I realise this. And I had my installer guy run 4 sets of speaker wire up to the top of my dash just for future expansion possibilities. I fantasize about putting some really good larger midrange drivers up there too really fill out the sound of my "front stage" as we say. But this IS a work in progress, as most installs are. I'm gonna play with my DSP and see what I can get it to do for me with the drivers I have or will have installed at first, which right now are Alpine SPR-50's 5.25 with coaxial passively crossed over tweeters. Nit m,y PHD 2 way separate drivers and passively crossed over are on their way to me!

Thanks for all your help!

John Kuthe...
Can you explain the 'optical jacks' on your CDE-153BT?

The Alpine manual doesn't mention them anywhere...

Some would say a cautionary tale? I'm having an expensive fun cautionary tale though and I'm sure it won't sound horrible. I wanna see what the DSP can do for me! That's my forte: Cheep Effects!

you said it has optical

Why do you refuse any advice thats given to you? These egomaniacs know what they are doing
Because I had already selected and purchased all my Alpine equipment and I knew how I wanted to install it in the Stow-n-Go storage bins and speakers all in their stock locations. That was MY plan from the get go. I didn't need people telling all the mistakes I was making, I was trying to minimize the effects of those, Like stock speaker locations. All the 6x9s are OK but the front 5.25" mount could be much better. I'd love to fab up a fitted speaker cabinet box up there for a full front audio stage! Right in my face as I drive.

But for now it's the PHD 5.1 AF 5.25: two ways as soon as I get them in the chincy stock mounts, Gonna cut out the back of Bom Mats and glue them to the PHD drivers as sort of a wave guide to direct the rear wave directly back and then have some sound absorption material behind it like Luxury Liner Pro (I have 40st/ft!) over Damplifier Pro!
