My install's coming along nicely

Then what you are saying is really that Caraudio.com is pretty worthless for good and true useful information. Which I am finding out a LOT!
John Kuthe...
Go back and read my actual posts...I have only stated facts (to the extent I understand them). I have claimed nothing about the usefulness or lack there of in this forum. It seems some folks have offered some solid info to you but you almost seem to reject it out-of-hand. I have been involved as an audio and install hobbyist and/or professional for over 2 decades...I certainly do not claim to know everything, in fact quite the opposite, there is always more to know about the hobby...whether it be technical or just a new useful install technique...and you never know what you'll learn and from whom.

That being said there are two things you need to realize.

1. You are asking strangers...you have no idea what they do or do not know...or what they THINK they may know. Take free advice with a grain of salt.

2. The people here that do know what they're talking about to any appreciable degree have attained that level of knowledge by doing some research...digging around...hear about a concept and research it. People here will help but we're not here to spoon-feed you as you and your 'install-guy' figure $hit out.

Good luck...it appears you'll need it.

You really think he would fare better over there?
I get kicked out of every club I join! I've gotten ostracized by better than CarAudio.com, lemme tell ya! I cut my Internet teeth in alt.tasteless!

But back to car audio! Installer guy and I got the custom RCAs and the rest of the speaker wires ruin and connected, at least on the amp and HU ends! Speakers are the next project, and sound deadening,

That's the best you can do with the wiring?
Why on earth would you zip-tie the bunch and hang them on the side panel railing??!!
I am SO glad you asked that question! :) I'll see if I remember the three reasons I thought of at the time. At first installer guy was zip tying the wires up just to keep them up and out of the way until we found a more permanent way to nail the wires up there and installer guy tried handing one over one of those little molded in plastic hook things (looks like it's for thin elastic cords or something) which didn't work but then he worked a zip tie up under the plastic perimeter of the amp box and out through the hole at the hooky thing, and I looked at it and said I think we found how to keep the wires up and away from the RCAs! They're easy, cheap and they WORK WONDERFULLY!" :) Installer guy then neatened them up and agreed!

Working with what we have, basically.

You don't nail RCA's down. Ever.

A proper install would be to hide those wiring/RCA's under the carpet. In your case, I would create some sort of beauty panel to go over the amps. WTF am I doing telling you this **** for. n/m.

I used the term figuratively, DUH! :)

All wiring is hidden under carpet and routed through the Grand Caravan's trim, etc. in all interior areas of minivan. Stealth mode I call it, looks 100% stock until you look in the amp box! Less attractive to thieves who can't see it!

Just got word, my PHD 5.1 5.25" AF speakers should be here soon, PHD is making them for me!

Yeah well coming from you and your ****** mouth, almost believeable and your nonsense posts.

I scored a $50 Inspiron laptop with WinXP for $50 off Ebay! For configuring my new DSP! CD for Alpine'e software says it's only for Win XP, Vista and Win7! Imagine that!! I run a Win XP Pro at home on my desktop but I can;t easily lug it out to

Baby II to configure the DSP! Ebay says it's used so it's supposedly tested and if it works for me once it will be worth the price!
