My First System

for that?! youd be fine with 10..but go with 8 if your gunna upgrade later
yea but i figured that since im getting all the parts together now, i might as well get some good quality parts so that i dont have to upgrade later on in the future //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Great stuff you have man, alot better than my first system ever was! Glad to see you starting with quality stuff, not that sony/pyramid stuff, lmao. Anyway, this kit would be good for you

Edi: 4gauge is kinda overkill but it will allow for future upgrades if you wanna add a mid/high amp. Look around Knu's site they have some 8gauge kits too
thanks man, yea i really wanted to do it right the first time around.. did alot of research before making my decision... espeically since the sub/amp selection is huge

i dont mind going with a 4gauge wiring kit as long as it doesnt hurt my the performance in anyway (if its even possible)... i know for sure ill be doing small upgrades to my stock system in the future.. i do have $50 for an amp kit so anything quality would be fine with me whether its 4 or 8ga wires:)

No prob man, if you've got that much saved go ahead and get the 4gauge Knu kit, it is good quality (alot better than wally world schosche *which i have *sigh* lmfao) the 4 gauge wont hurt you in anyway at all!

since im going more towards SQ i decided to go for a custom made Sealed Enclosure with around 1.4 - 1.5 cubic feet of volume.. btw all this is going into a 2001 Accord EX 4dr
im guessing you ran the sub at 400rms? how did it sound overall?

I believe it was something like 400rms. Sounded GREAT. I was sealed in 1 cf enclosure, or 1.5 dont' remember. Hit great for me. I was rather impressed. Like I said, I still have it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

haha sounds good, cant wait til i hook it up and hear it for myself:veryhapp:

although it'll only being running 325rms.. it should be enough power for me, im not expecting it to bump REALLY loud

thanks for heads up, ill probably go with the kit you recommended

nice but it is that over priced JL for your sub....
not sure if your asking me if jl's are overpriced or not, but after looking around the forum, ive learned theres alot of other options that compete with JLs for cheaper

the w3 i got is like $200 shipped on ebay and probably alittle more at authorized dealers

im sure theres alot of other subs that are better than the w3 for it's retail price.. but since i got it for so cheap i cant really complain

I think for the price you go a good deal! Your going to be very happy with the sub.
thanks, my expectations arent too high.. as long as it sounds good ill be happy, and if it happens to bump a bit louder than i expected, ill consider that an added bonus:D

have a quick question.. bought my amp brand new but it didnt come with a birthsheet.. just wondering if birthsheets are only made by certain companies

also, is there anyway to find out exactly how much power my amp makes?

yeah there are only a handful of companies that provide birth sheets with their amps.

and i believe maxxsonics (hifonics) isn't one of them.

as far as testing your amp some local shops might be able to do it.

other than that you can send it off to have it bench tested.

but that takes time and money so IMO it's not worth it.
