Mustang work log (with pics)

right now there is like a 1inch gap around the top and sides, the metal is also at a slant so its about 1 inch wide and about 4 inches resessed at the bottom. I want to fiberglass to the car and to the box, so theres no more gap around the box. mostly for looks, a little is that it will seperate the cab from the trunk. but if you look at the picture of the deck there were the mids are, theres alot of holes I would also have to glass over to truley "Seal" the back

My stang liked sub foward port side.
Just like most trunks.

It sounded ALOT louder than it was on teh meter.

It moved ALOT of air.

It hated sealed up. Windows down=loud.

Which is g00d for daily driver.

Do you mean sub facing front of car and port facing side of car?

nah man, couldn't get out to Lowe's yesterday cause that accident shutting down the highway, and well today, you know whats up. no garage, this storm is *******....

got the wood now for the sub floor. Also, took out the fiberglass mat and played with it a bit... Its nothing like the last stuff I used.. I can see why you said to fleece it then use the mat to back it.

Long story short, heading to walmart to see what fleece is on sale, and getting a staple gun for affixing the cloth to box

So I got the cloth, and have it affixed to the box. also got a sub floor in the back now to mount the box too and have my new rear mids and highs in... A pretty good day for the late start I got.

The sub floor:

thats an awesome build and kinda gives me some ideas on fitting something different. I however didnt have the patience you do... I sat there for about an hour trying to figure out how I could get the cubes I wanted/needed for my 2 15"s so I could make it removeable for when I goto the track. I gave up said F*** it and built a wall... lol.

i blew one the 2nd day it was done and tried for a couple weeks to get another one and gave up, ill probably meter it this week and take it out... lol and sorry for post jacking... just thought I would share my mustang experiences with you.

no problem man, i now the fustrations with the stang.... I had 2 orion HCCA 15's (the orginal ones.) Man did I have a problem fitting those. Solution to that was a half wall thing too.... lol.

Unfotunately all that stuff was stolen from me while I was in Iraq.

got the glass laid, and some paint on it. I really should sand it down and repaint, but this is gonna be coved by my rear seats about 98% of the time, its not a show car, customer car, or any other thing that I otherwise care about the aesthetics. That, and I am tired of not having a car. So tomorrow, front mids / highs go in, subs go in box, seats go back in, and it should be done!

thats what I was originally going to do a half wall thing but decided it would be hard to make look good and gave up. are you still going to use the metal/carpet beauty panel? wait thats what the seat attaches to right? I think so which means you would which would cover alot of the glass I tihnk... lol

thats 1 layer of fleece, though the ONLY place it needs any strength whatsoever are the the little triangles it made on the left and right, just above the wire holes. Everything else is screwed into sheet metal or wood.

so here I got the subs in. really underestimated the rigidity the resin would give the wood where I brushed the face of it. I literally had to kick the subs in. Oh well, they fit nice and snug, don't think there going anywhere.
