I put an email out to Polk, but im guessing these are going in the trash....
Thoughts, can the surrounds be easily replaced & is it worth it...?
Im not attached to them, but if I remember correctly they were a small fortune back in 00 & they still are really loud...
Some 19 year old punk kid plowed into 3 parked vehicles on side of the road & my 00 expedition I has since it was new will most likely be totaled....

So I started pulling door speakers & fosgate punch amps.

I vaguely remember the foam surround instructions from Fix-my-speaker, but if memory serves me well, you can refoam them without removing the dust cap. Step was to glue the foam to the cone and once set, glue the foam to the frame while playing music on very low volume. When it is off center you will hear scratching. When centered, it plays clean.

Me digging down this rabbit hole....
Per specs & verifying with Polk, these speakers are 6.75" & I cant seem to even locate some foam surrounds in 6.75"
Probably not worth the trouble but ***** as these were loud & sounded great....
They still sound great, just surrounds are torn.
I get it, they dont last forever...

Did you measure the cone's outer diameter? I think the 3/4 only applies to the frame and not a bigger cone. If the cone is slightly bigger you should still be able to fit the 6.5 inch surround on it.
Also measure the landing area's diameter.

You can also try a 7" surround.

This one is for a 6.5 but the dimensions are perfect for yours.

What's the condition of the tweeter and x-over?
tweeters play fine...
Dont see any issues with the x-overs...

As others have stated, I have nothing to put them in...
But I remember them being super costly back in the day, $650 I think....
Might be worth picking up those cheap surrounds & see how they fit.
Seems like a super easy job unless im missing something, seems like the surrounds will easily peel right off the cone from me trying at the torn edge.
Will have to slice the surrounds off the frame area as its super thing & appears to be super secure...
Havent tried heat yet.
Need to figure out if I want to throw money at them...

From scrutinizing your pictures, I think they will just about center themselves. I would adhere the foam under the cone for easier centering. The outer diameter of the foam will probably fit snug inside of that frame's lip, so basically centering itself (although play low volume just to be sure).

Slicing it off with a knife would be my go to. No need to worry about scratching the frame since it will be covered.

These are 25 years old- they have no repair parts- never did. I don't know of a single speaker manufacturer, other than pro, that sells replacement surrounds.

Contact Speaker Exchange in Minnesota.

Repair the affected area with some pure black silicone caulk. Smooth it out and leave it to dry.

Does the surrounds affect sound that much replacing it. I would think since 2000 that’s pretty much time for a new one. Punch is the name of the speakers. Because of wears and tears to the copper wirings, may not be as effective to do so. But you can always use it as a bench test radio. May not be optimal after all these years. Reminds me of high school years. Did you get in? Jack said I have to wait for it. Then maybe…
