I started 2nite when i got in from work. I went ahead and built the floor to level it all out. Also the amps will be installed under the floor. 4.75" clearance so i shouldnt have any heat issues hopefully. Bolted the floor down using the holes where the seats were bolted to. This should hold the floor/enclosure down in place pretty well. Used Grade 8 bolts.Took 2 pics of the work for 2nite. Alot more work to come in the following week so stay tuned.

What is this. I notice now when my windows are up it makes ALOT of noise and flaps alot. Whats the purpose of this? Im thinking about covering it up with sound deadning.

yes when i did 4 re se 12's in my silverado extended cab i found those vents as well. i took them out and deadened over them eventually. i was getting a lot of muffler drone through these.

Yea if my windows are up then i get alot of exaust noise, and its mostly high pitched since my truck is turbo charged.

as it was (sorta) mentioned before, that's a vent to relive pressure when you shut the doors. your ears might pop a bit when you slam the doors if you block it off, but thats doubtfull. most cars have them in the trunk, and youve seen how many car walls there are, lol. seal that sh!t IMO. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

Yours look slightly different than mine. I ended up just trimming mine down and built my amp rack over them. I don't think you would have any problems if you sealed them up, its mostly just for relieving pressure when you close the doors and such. Only problem I had was that I would have to unbolt/move my bed around to get the vents out in one piece. Or a dremel could hack them up and pull them out in bits.

Looking forward to the rest of this, not too often to see a loud F350. Really curious to see how you like the mechman alt too. Are the D3100's going in the factory spots or are you adding them into the system somewhere else in addition to the 2 factory bats?
