After some power testing using 25Hz sine-wave free-air it's thermal limits are definitely its short fall, I have 1K @ .08%THD to give it, and @ 1" P-P it begins to heat up, nothing bad, prob no more than 140 degrees F, Xmax is looking more like +/- 13mm. There are gaps around all the columns, (8 x 4 stack 2.5" x .5" thick so 2" total height of magnets) and plenty of under spider venting but no air movement around the coil to keep it cool. Coil turned out to be 3", I told someone 2.5" but after a bit of rigorous measuring it is in fact 3" lol. Coil is short enough so that it cant reach the back-plate so no bottoming out issue, thick windings, looks to be 8 layer but the wire is very small gauge, 24awg maybe smaller so that is the subs limiting factor. Tinsels are small gauge and woven through the spider so thats a lil bit of a bummer as well. Motor has serious potential for fun high BL custom drivers but its glued and screwed like crazy. Thats where I stand now and I'll keep the masses updated, I know everyone is just dying to get the down low on these $80 shipped 9" diameter motor 10's lol. Push terminals accept true 12awg wire easily by the way.
